HyVotifier Setup Guide

Reward players who vote for your server and boost your visibility on server lists.

How Vote Rewards Work

When players vote for your server on our site, we send a notification to your server. HyVotifier receives the vote and automatically rewards the player.

Step 1: Install HyVotifier

Download HyVotifier

Download HyVotifier from CurseForge:

Install the Mod

Place the downloaded .jar or .zip file in your server's mods/ folder and restart the server.

Step 2: Configure HyVotifier

After first startup, HyVotifier creates config files in mods/HSL_Votifier/

BindHost- IP to listen on (0.0.0.0 for all)

BindPort- Port for vote connections (default: 8192)

Tokens- V2 protocol tokens (service name → token)

RewardCommands- Commands to run when player votes

RewardMessages- Messages sent to the voter

RewardBroadcasts- Messages broadcast to all players

Available placeholders: %player% (voter username), %from% (voting site name)

Votifier Protocols

Recommended

V2 Protocol (Token/HMAC)

Modern protocol using shared tokens for authentication.

Add the token provided by the voting website to your config.

V1 Protocol (RSA)

Legacy protocol using RSA public key encryption.

Provide the contents of your public key file to the voting website:

Step 3: Open the Votifier Port

Important: Votifier uses TCP (not UDP like the game server). Open TCP port 8192 in your firewall.

Linux (ufw)

sudo ufw allow 8192/tcp

Linux (iptables)

sudo iptables -A INPUT -p tcp --dport 8192 -j ACCEPT

Verify Port is Open

Use a port checker like ping.eu/port-chk to verify your Votifier port is accessible.

If the port shows as "closed", voting websites cannot send votes to your server.

HyVotifier supports MiniMessage-style color tags:

Step 4: Configure on Hytale Top Servers

1Go to your server dashboard
2Click Edit Server
3Scroll to Votifier Integration
4Enable Votifier and select your protocol version
5Enter your Votifier port (default: 8192)
6For V2: Enter your token | For V1: Paste your public key
7Use Test Connection to verify
8Save your settings

Troubleshooting

Votes Not Being Received

Check that TCP port 8192 is open in your firewall
Use ping.eu/port-chk to verify the port is accessible
Verify HyVotifier loaded successfully in server logs
Double-check your address and port settings on our site

Test Connection Fails

For V2: Verify the token matches exactly (case-sensitive)
For V1: Make sure you copied the entire public key content
Ensure your server is running when testing
Try using your IP address instead of domain name

Config Formatting Errors

HyVotifier configs are JSON files. Use JSONLint to check for formatting errors if the mod isn't loading correctly.

Use Test Votes

Run /testvote YourName in the server console to simulate a vote and verify your rewards are working correctly.
